Powering Up To Go ROW

It’s time for Round Two of the ROW80 challenge.  I’m looking forward to it with hesitant anticipation.  It seems like I never stopped.

The Passage of Time

That’s probably because I never did.  And no doubt neither did many of you.  We joined this challenge to help ourselves (learn to) live like writers.   We were tired of trying to race through month-long challenges that left us gulping air at the end of our participation.  We came to the ROW80 for the very reasons that Kait Nolan created the Round of Words, because we wanted to live through our writing career…  certainly enough to enjoy it.

This session, if I didn’t wait too long to get that post to Kait, I will be acting as a sponsor for fellow ROWers.  This new responsibility as well as my assessment of my successes and failures during the last round inspired me to pick less vague and (hopefully) more attainable goals, while ensuring that I am still urged to try more.

Time

Tomorrow evening, I will post my goals for this Round of Words as well as my scheduling layout for this blog and my other page A Garden of Delights.  One of my goals for this round is to slowly merge these two blogs into one: A Garden of Possibilities.  It seems the most fitting, if a somewhat bad pun on my name.  But sometimes closing doors opens up a world of new opportunities.

For tonight though, I’m going to take a walk along one of the paths I have left free for trespass and see where it leads me.  Tonight, I am going to go to sleep and pretend this computer does not exist.  Tonight I’m going to peek into the shadows of my own stories and relax with them for no other purpose than to just enjoy myself.  I’m taking an evening off.

I invite you all to join me.  But if you want to stay up and meet some other ROWers (something I highly recommend you do on occasion) here is the linky where you find them.

    • You just want me to write more blog posts… I know what you’re doing. 😉

Thank you. I’ll be getting to them this week. And we’re even supposed to have sunshine, so it’ll be extra apropos.

“Peek into the shadows of my own stories?” Wow, I love that! Hope you enjoyed your walk. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

    • And thank you for the return visit, Jenn. It’s always interesting, isn’t it, when we can go find places in our character’s lives we never expected? Hope you have the chance to do some exploring of your own this ROWnd.

  3. While I love what you write, I would never use an award to sway you (unless it was really good chocolate or Russian Caravan tea!).

I find delight in what you post, and wanted to give a bit of that back.

It took me about a month. True story.

    • It’ll probably take me about a month too at this rate. But I will get to it. Of course, I need to finish my first blog award yet (the last five people)… So much time, so little to do… whoops, reverse that that!

Thanks you for the kind words and the gentle thoughts and the love… that more than anything.

  4. I haven’t signed up yet since I’m out of town right now. I figured I would wait until I get back and get my goals posted and sign-up officially. I wish you luck with your goals this round. 🙂

    • Well, if you look at the main ROW80 page, you know you’re always welcome to hop right in. Hope you’re enjoying yourself while out of town and that, when you are ready, you have a wonderful ROW. 😀

  5. Eden, you are doing so much better than what I did last round -I totally fell off the wagon and hid (I know I’m sooo ashamed of myself). I wanted to pass on some advice as a previous sponsor, space yourself and don’t leave the commenting to one day as it becomes a little overwhelming -oh and make sure you do not pile on too much goals -with the sponsoring duties it can be a bit too much.

I do sincerely wish you do extremely well this round of ROW80; I think I will sit this one out until I refocus; but I’ll try and pop by and shout out words of encouragement where I can.

I certainly will look forward to your new blog, keep us posted.

    • Thank you so much for stopping in, Yikici. I was wondering if you would be joining us for this Round (but, as you have probably guessed, I’ve been trying to get through my sponsor duties AND my goals, and… )

You are so right about not making my goals too expansive. It’s something to definitely consider, especially right now as I’m trying to figure out what to say about the first week.

However, on the falling off the wagon… I popped over to your blog here and there and the pictures you were doing… Perhaps it’s less a case of your “falling off” and more a case of “refocusing”… You just are taking an extra Round to figure things out.

Hope to see you around, and I will check in too. Have some fun during your “time off” 😉

      • Heya Edith,

apologies for my absence, life threw me a HUGE curveball which I was unable to recover from until now. Things are still shakey; but this is the first comment I’m replying back to (not even a blog post is up yet -though one is in the making as we speak), so I’m hoping to get back on form soon.

As you have probably guessed I haven’t had the chance to catch up with what you have been upto since; I do hope you swam through the ROW80 round as a great sponsor -you have a great heart so I really want you to have done well. I will catch up with you & everyone soon (I hope).

        • Hi, Yikici.

It has been a long time. I’m sorry to hear that things have been difficult for you this past year. Hopefully things will be nicer this one. It can be the year of Comforting Successes for us both. 🙂 Let me know when your post is up so I can go sneak a peek.

Thank you for your kind words about my sponsorship. I really did enjoy my time as one and will probably do so again, but right now I’m in the middle of juggling different commitments. Same old story… Life moves on; life continues as it is.

And it’s actually Eden, not Edith. My aunt is Edith, and while I adore her, she’s nothing like me.

          Be well.
